The UAE, represented by the Federal Geographic Information Center, participated in the Global Geospatial Forum 2023, held in Rotterdam, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

HE Anwar Alshimmari, Executive Director of the Geospatial Information Governance Sector at FGIC, participated in discussions on “Vision & Strategy for Long-term Development & Adoption of Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure: Transferring geospatial data from data to knowledge.”

She also gave a presentation on the theme of diversity, equality, inclusion and promotion of cooperation in the spatial data community, to highlight the importance of sharing and updating data to support spatial data projects and scientific and academic research and to encourage the current generation to engage in the field while committing to implementing the data sharing and integration policy.

This global event, is an interactive collaborative platform that attracts the most prominent experts and specialists in the geospatial information sector, in addition to the participation of government agencies, the private sector, and scientific and academic institutions.
